Emerge Spring Impact Note
The past few months have been humbling and educational.
After launching Emerge Consulting in January of 2018, I met with social change leaders in Los Angeles to learn about how we could best support their efforts. Time and time again, I was blown away by the personal sacrifice and dedication that people bring to this work. I met one woman who has been running a women's health organization as a full-time volunteer for over 20 years. She has never taken a single paycheck.
I couldn't help but wonder: How do we take care of the people who are so selflessly taking care of our communities?
Emerge wants to create spaces for leaders to charge their batteries and reflect on their path to rejuvenate them for the work that still needs to be done. Our Emerging Impact Social Change Workshops center around helping nonprofit leaders manage and lead more effectively, enhancing organizational strategy to better serve communities and sharing pathways to create a culture of diversity and inclusion. The workshops are designed as interactive and dynamic experiences that allow hands on learning, dialogue, and reflection.
Too often, nonprofit leaders forget to invest in their own self-care and development. I invite you to review our workshop curriculum for this year and schedule a session for your staff, and more importantly, for yourself.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to partner, share your perspective, or just chat over coffee.
